How do you know if your allergic to latex condoms?

well, today I had sex for the first time. And well it burns a lot when I pee. Could I be allergic to the condoms? Or is that normal for your first time? How do you know if your allergic to latex condoms?
This is a great question, and it鈥檚 good that you鈥檙e thinking of a variety of options. You may very well be having an allergic reaction to latex condoms. But there could be a variety of other things going on.

* If it has been a long time since you鈥檝e used condoms, it could be something as simple as a skin reaction to the increased friction.

* You may be reacting to the lubricant in the condom

* Alternatively, if you are using non-lubricated condoms you may be experiencing pain from chafing of a sort.

* There may be a separate health issue and the condoms may just be making the situation worse, or more evident to you.

The first thing you may want to consider is a visit to a doctor to have yourself checked out. There is no specific skin test for latex allergies, but if you鈥檙e having a skin reaction a doctor should be able to give you more information based on visually examining the area.

If your reaction is mild, and you want to try to do some sleuthing on your own, here are a few ideas:

* Test to see if it鈥檚 a latex allergy by using male non-latex condoms or the Reality female condom . If you don鈥檛 experience any reaction with those products, it鈥檚 probably a latex allergy.

* Experiment with different condom brands, and try both lubricated and non-lubricated condoms. It may be that you are reacting to the lubricant in the condom, or a particular brand of condom, and not the latex itself.

* To make sure it isn鈥檛 just irritation from too much friction, add some extra personal lubricant when you鈥檙e using condoms. You can put a small drop inside the tip of the condom before you roll it on, and then once it鈥檚 on, apply the lubricant to the outside of the condom. How do you know if your allergic to latex condoms?
It's also possible to be allergic to the spermicide on the condom. Next time, use a condom without spermicide and a water-based lubricant (to prevent breakage).

If it burns when you pee (and you have to pee frequently, just a little bit each time), these are signs of a urinary tract infection. UTI's are much more prevalent in women than men, and can be caused by sexual intercourse. UTI's usually aren't a big deal. Just drink plenty of water and cranberry juice and it should go away.
Usually during the first intercourse will make your vagina very sensitive. BUT the way to tell if you have a latex allergy is some band aids have latex. If you wear one for an hours and take it off and still have a raised red outline where the band aid used to be, then you are allergic. Thats the short and sweet of it.
that could be a sign of bacteria in the vagina

or an infection

as for the Latex idea - get a latex glove put it on and leave it on - if you are allergic you'll know.
Normal. Has nothing to do with the condom. If you had a rash that would be different.
