mineral oil and a razor blabe scraperWhat is the best way to remove latex-based paint from granite countertops?
If you have smooth counters then just use razor blabe scrapers...
saturate the paint with water and let it soak into the paint. Use a plastic putty knife and scrap it up and wipe it with a damp sponge.
HD sells a product called ';Crud Cutter'; , it comes in a spray bottle and works great to dissolve latex paint. Doesn't stain Granite.
Hot soapy water and some elbow grease. Pick the drops off with your fingernails and then clean the leftovers with the soapy water. No stains, No damage.
try a piece of rubber and warm water
Razor blade and steel wool to remove the residue. when you are done wipe the surface with var sol to fill in irregularities. Don`t over use the steel wool , a couple quick wipes is all it takes. remember that granite is very hard and it takes a lot to scratch it. Or else it`s not really granite.
if its latex paint, just use warm water and a rag.
latex paint is water soluable
